Would you vote for me?

October 7th, 2008 by Out Wrong

I am responsible for the care and upbringing of my young children, and yet I am willing to be less of a parent to satisfy my selfish political ambitions.

I have absolutely no foreign policy experience.

The highest political office I have held is the governor of a small state.

Finally, I am the youngest governor ever elected in my state.

Who am I?

Bill Clinton.

Sarah Palin’s supposed lack of experience is a non-starter as an argument against her. Anyone who attempts to raise it as a valid criticism of her campaign may consider herself or himself repudiated and her or his protestations refuted.

Also, as a Democrat don’t you believe in Affirmative Action? What is affirmative action but the process of weighing other factors such as gender or race differently when one is looking to fill a position. How is Palin not a candidate for affirmative action?

For those who discount the value of a mother’s experience or the day-to-day executive experience that comes from being a housespouse, I suggest you check your gender-biases.

Why do we value the traditional “male” experience of primary breadwinner, CEO, political striver more than the traditional “female” life of domestic engineer?

I hope that it is an unquestioned belief, but I fear it is willful ignorance.
