I’m voting for a woman for president. Why? Because the equality of women is the most important issue facing humanity. I’ll say it again, the equality of women is the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE facing humanity.
Not the engineered financial “crisis,” not the occupation of Iraq, not racism, nothing else even comes close to gender equality. If you don’t believe that, ask yourself why. Why can’t you allow yourself to put women first?
Without equality for women, we have nothing.
Wouldn’t you love to vote for a woman for president? Well you can. I recently became aware of Cynthia McKinney’s run for president. I had heard of her before but I just hadn’t given her much attention. Rosa Clemente is her vice presidential running mate. They are running on the Green Party ticket. I disagree with them on almost every issue, except gender equality.
I hear you saying, “but if you don’t vote for one of the two major parties your vote is wasted.” That argument doesn’t hold up. Now, if I don’t vote at all one might argue that I am wasting my vote (I’m not certain of that argument either.) But voting for the “lesser of two evils” makes me sick. I can’t bring myself to do it.
McCain is obviously an evil bastard. He’s easy to dismiss.
But all of you Obama supporters need to wake the fuck up. If you are so gung-ho for Obama then start fighting his war right now. Get your ass over to Afghanistan and take on the Taliban and Al Quaeda. Or, are you a coward? Would you rather have somebody else fight your wars for you while you sit at home and have your deep political thoughts? You seem a lot like those neocons to me. Oh, and while you are getting your things in order before you go off to fight a war, please send any remaining money you have to Hank Paulson over at the Treasury. That’s the kind of change Obama votes for.
